Defiance
A desperado, delirious by his decision
to ride deftly in a desolate desert,
is devastated, distraught, and distressed.
As I daydream, my mind deceptively deviates to his image.
His infamy dominates; the other highwaymen are discouraged and defamed.
The day progresses drearily and dulls into a blur,
but he still drives on from dusk to dawn.
