Shakespeare Victory, NY, and Beauty

April 21 was the annual Shakespeare Festival, and I participated in one of the costume categories - the objective being to make a historically accurate Elizabethan court/lady-in-waiting dress under $75. I designed the dress, and with help from a good friend with wonderful sewing capability, we did just that.

And we won 2nd place.

I am satisfied. I get to keep the trophy, too. And the dress. <3

NY was incredibly beautiful in spring, all the trees were budding and blooming, and there were flowers, especially tulips, everywhere. I saw 6 Broadway shows: Once, Peter and the Starcatcher, Porgy and Bess, War Horse, Ghost, and The Book of Mormon [favorites in that order]. They were all extremely enjoyable, and the actors we met after the shows at the stage door were all incredibly nice.

So, I ended up watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It was awesome! The portrayal of the patients was really accurate, and I loved that.
